What is Reiki Healing?

Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is spiritually guided life force energy from the universe. In chinese, it is called Ling Qi (霊気).

Reiki is made of cosmic or universal life energies that are found everywhere from the air, water, fire, earth, animal, plant, star systems, spirit world, cosmic world, Higher Self, sun, galaxies and consciousness. It is the same universal energy that emits when people chant mantras, say prayers and manifest what they desire as well as receiving this energy during meditation. The Reiki practitioner acts as a channel or vessel for the flow of Universal Life Force to come through the body to the hands of the practitioner and direct to the receiver for healing. The difference between chanting mantras, saying prayers, meditation and manifestations versus Reiki healing lies on the intention and the usage. Reiki healing is directed to the specific parts of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies using the hands and intention of the reiki practitioner. Chanting mantras and saying prayers are more to do with requesting the universe for help with the power of intention. Such requests may not be answered immediately depending on the strong intentions and sense of urgency of the request. Whereas Reiki flows to where it is most needed for the receiver without any judgement or urgency.

Distant healing enables healing to be performed from a distance, from another country, another region without body contact. Reiki energy travels through time and space. This enables healing to be done at the recipient's convenience and comfort. As it travels through time and space, Reiki can also heal past lives directed to specific lifetimes that needs healing. Reiki is a powerful tool not just for healing people, it can also be done on plants, animals, space clearing, energising crystals and water and much more!

As Reiki practitioner, we do not decide which area requires healing. Our body has an innate ability to know what is best for the highest and greatest good. Our soul and Higher Self knows what is most needed to heal. Reiki healing may take in the form of healing in physical, mental, emotional or spiritual aspects of a person. In Distance Reiki, the Reiki practitioner can send the energy from a far distance to another person without personal contact. They can be in different countries, different time and space. Some people may not feel the Reiki energy when the Reiki Practitioner or Master is in the process of healing them. For those who are more energy sensitive, they may feel some sensations in terms of tingling, heat or coldness, emotional feelings or certain visuals and colors. Each person's experience will be different. There are some myths over the internet about Reiki. It is a misconception of some people who claims that Reiki is demonic. It is none of that. A Reiki practitioner is attuned to the higher frequencies of the Universe by a Reiki Master. How would the Universe or Cosmos be demonic? The Universe is full of Love and Light and is what created us. It is of positive energy and good intentions to heal for the highest good. There has been some fear-mongering rumours about Reiki in the internet. Reiki is a holistic form of healing. It does not replace traditional prescriptions or medications recommended by doctors for acute diseases and illnesses. Reiki is supportive of any types of medication whether that be pharmaceutical, herbs and plants or therapeutic treatments. After a Reiki session, it is best to check with your doctor if the medicine dosage requires any adjustment.

There are various types of Reiki - traditional Usui Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Angelic Reiki, Kundalini Reiki and etc. Despite the variations, it all boils down to Universal Life Force that is in abundance for us to tap on. We are all energy beings of Love and Light. Reiki is just helping us to remember who we are and activating the inner healer within us on a quantum level. Reiki practitioner or master are merely acting as conduit to channel positive energies to the intended recipient for his or her highest and greatest good. Intentions must be positive otherwise the energy will not flow. If the recipient is not willing to accept the reiki energy, the energy will also not flow to him or her.
