Causes of Skin Allergies

There are many causes of skin allergies such as rashes, eczema, inflammations but mostly it is due to sensitivity to food and environmental toxins and histamine intolerance.
The common food allergens are:
- Any types of nuts eg. peanuts, almond, walnut, cashew nuts etc
- Diary products
- Egg
- Soy
- MSG
- GMO (genetically-modified organics)
- Meat
- Vegetables sprayed with pesticides
- Hot spices
- Wheat, gluten
- Processed food, packaged food
- Certain medications
When the antibody identifies an allergen or foreign substances called the antigens, the immune system releases huge amounts of histamine. This in turns, causes inflammatory responses resulting in rashes, swelling, hives, etc. The body cannot handle high levels of histamine which can even cause death. But the body does counteract the high histamine levels by producing adrenaline to deactivate histamine. Sometimes high levels of adrenaline can cause anxiety and panic attacks. So it is important to maintain a balance between histamine and adrenaline levels. Histamine also keeps the body awake and alert. Antihistamine causes the body to be sleepy and drowsy.
Examples of high histamine level foods are:
- Night shades plants such as eggplant, ladies finger (okra), brinjal etc.
- Avocado
- Spinach
- Processed meat
- Processed cheese
- Fermented foods such as yogurt
- Alcohol
- Dried fruits
- Shell fish
- Banana
- Papaya
- Tomatoes
- Beans
- Chocolate
- Food dyes and additives
Environmental factors can also play a part in causing allergies:
- Dust, dustmites
- Pollen
- Mold
- Pesticides, fogging
- Parasites and insect bites
- Chemtrails
- Chemicals such as SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), parabens, sulfates that are present in most skincare, haircare products and detergents ie. shampoo, facial wash, body wash, conditioner, washing detergent, floor cleaning detergent, laundry detergent etc.
- Chlorine and heavy metals
Negative emotions can also trigger the skin condition to aggravate such as:
- Anger
- Frustration
- Stress
The causes of skin problems can vary on individuals. It can be caused by food, chemicals, environment on a physical; it can also be caused by emotions on an emotional level; it can also be caused by belief systems on a mental level or it can be caused by past life traumas, karma, negative entities on a spiritual level.
To resolve such skin problems, a holistic approach has been made. A change to healthier, natural and organic diet is important to stop feeding the body with toxins and absorbing good nutrients. The body also needs to detox all existing toxins through probiotics, enzymes and low histamine foods for a start.
Frequent exercise can also help in the blood circulation and detox through perspiration. Most often when the body is unable to digest well, it can accumulate toxins over time that will cause the immunity system to over-react. When it happens, the body will develop rashes to signal that it is time to detox. It is a vicious cycle of being aware of the food and drinks that we consume on a daily basis.
Personally I also have allergies to certain foods and chemicals and try my best to avoid them. But sometimes even eliminating high histamine foods can still cause autoimmune reactions. The histamine maybe accumulated in the body over the years. So my solutions is to maintain the balance by consuming antihistamine foods on a regular basis.

- Stinging Nettle
- Watercress
- Chamomile tea
- Dandelion tea
- Tarragon
- Thyme
- Holy Basil
- Moringa
- Lotus Root
- Apple
- Peach
- Onions
- Garlic
- Tumeric
- Seaweed, kelps
Supplements for Histamine Intolerance:
- Probiotics
- D-Hist
- DAO enzymes
- Vitamin C, B6, Magnesium
The gut health is also very important. It helps the body to digest and improve the immune system. Gut problems and indigestion can actually affect the way your body retains the nutrients found in your diet, leading to poor absorption of the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants needed to keep skin looking healthy and potentially worsening existing skin conditions. So consuming probiotics, fruit enzymes, good nutrients such as vitamin C, Vitamin D, fish oil (omega fats), exercise regularly, detox heavy metals from the body are very crucial to maintaining overall good health. Doing meditation, yoga also helps to calm down the body to relieve stress. Avoiding the food allergens in the long term will help to stop the antibody from over-reacting. A healthy gut is the most powerful solution to solving histamine intolerance, auto-immune system and overall health. Taking care of the gut also helps to prevent chronic illnesses such as cancer and diseases.
For women, estrogen is produced during heavy menstruation. Estrogen is a major sex hormone that regulates women reproductive system, development of breasts, pubic and armpit hairs, menstrual cycle, bone development, heart health and mood management. When estrogen increases, it promotes release of histamine and down-regulates DAO enzyme. Histamine will then stimulate the ovaries to produce more estrogen. So the cycle goes on. It is important to consume anti-histamine and reduce high histamine foods to improve the allergies and auto-immune system.
Whenever you experience insect bites that causes itchiness and you have the tendency to scratch, chances are, it will develop into hives and will worsen when you scratch it and it will spread to other parts of your body. The solution is to take more antihistamine foods to control the itch and histamine levels. And the next thing to do is apply some colloidal silver on the affected area. While all these solutions maybe treating the body on a physical level, skin reactions maybe something that stems on an emotional and spiritual level. It may extend from past lives issues carried forward to the present life. But as much as we can do is to try and eliminate the allergens and treat at the physical level that we can understand first. Then we can go deeper to examine the emotions and spiritual level.
In summary, for those with known allergy issues, you will need to consume anti-histamine natural food, reduce or eliminate high histamine foods and consume more DAO enzyme.
